Transforming fleeting moments into timeless memories.
Place of Serene is an elevated content creator who captures love in its truest form, highlighting the quiet gestures, in-between moments, and genuine emotion that make each wedding uniquely theirs. With a calm, modern aesthetic and a layered approach that includes styling and coordination, they craft a serene, intentional experience while preserving memories that resonate for years to come.

Place of Serene was founded on a philosophy of capturing love in its truest form — the quiet gestures, the laughter between moments, the beauty of the real. Can you share what first inspired this approach and how it continues to shape your creative vision?
Since high school, I’ve always had a knack for finding unique perspectives, playing with lighting, experimenting with angles, and looking for the small details that tell a bigger story. That early curiosity shaped the way I create today. Working in the marketing world added another layer, allowing me to see things from a styling/set up/marketing perspective and through the eyes of the consumer. What might seem insignificant to one person can be the moment that means everything to another — and capturing that contrast is what inspires my creative vision and continues to guide the philosophy behind Place of Serene.

Your work captures emotion in such a tender, natural way — there’s a quiet depth in every frame. How do you tune into those subtle, in-between moments that reveal the real heart of a wedding day?
From my experience capturing conferences, exhibitions, live events, and shoots, I’ve learned that being fully ‘switched on’ is everything. You need a sharp eye for detail, an awareness of the space, and the understanding that while you can’t capture everything, you can anticipate where the most meaningful moments are likely to unfold. A big part of my process is planning where I need to be but also staying open and present enough to catch the spontaneous in-between moments that truly connect with people.
I stay observant and let the day breathe. I watch how people naturally interact instead of directing every second. I tune into the energy in the room, whether it’s the soft breath before walking down the aisle, a comforting hand squeeze, an admiring gaze across the room, or those hidden moments couples don’t even realize happened. It could be a sister quietly fixing the bride’s train or a grandmother dancing her heart out with the groom’s best mate.
My goal is simple: be present, blend into the background, and capture the heart of the day as it genuinely unfolds. Like a fly on the wall, I look for the real moments that will mean the most when you look back.

You offer more than content creation — your team also helps with styling, coordination, and sourcing. How does this layered approach allow you to create a more cohesive and serene experience for couples?
Our approach goes beyond simply showing up with a camera. We offer minimal assistance in areas like styling, coordination, or sourcing for couples who want a little extra support. It’s perfect for the DIY couple who doesn’t need a full stylist or coordinator, but appreciates having someone to help refine the look or streamline the flow of the day.
Whether a couple chooses one service or a combination, these small layers of support help create a calmer, more cohesive experience. We can guide the visual details, lighten the logistical load, and make sure everything runs smoothly. This flexible approach allows us to stay ahead of the moment, anticipate needs, keep everyone relaxed, and ensure every detail aligns beautifully on camera, resulting in an experience that feels serene and intentional.
Every wedding unfolds differently. Can you walk us through your process on the day — how you move, observe, and decide what moments to preserve
With every event, we start with a content deck for couples to fill out — it helps us understand what matters most, where we need to be, and how to flow with the day. Every wedding has its own rhythm, and while things don’t always run perfectly, having a clear overview lets us move with confidence.
On the day, I observe the landscape, the light, and the energy, capturing setups before the rush begins. I move with intention but stay unobtrusive, drifting between the couple and key moments as the day unfolds. I focus on both the big highlights and the quiet, in-between gestures — the small moments that often tell the real story. My goal is to blend in like a guest with purpose: close enough to capture emotion, subtle enough to keep everyone relaxed. Every choice I make is guided by storytelling, aesthetics, and authenticity: What will matter years from now? What feels true to this couple By combining awareness, intuition, and quiet observation, I’m able to capture a balance of the big highlights and the intimate, fleeting moments that make each wedding uniquely theirs.

There’s a strong sense of artistry in your imagery — a calm elegance that feels both modern and timeless. What inspires this aesthetic? Are there artists, places, or creative practices that continually influence your work?
My aesthetic is shaped by a mix of influences, other events I’ve captured, Pinterest boards, product photography, and even the work of other event photographers. I’m not a professional photographer, but I love observing how they use perspective, light, and storytelling to capture people and moments. There’s always room to grow and learn, and these influences continually guide the calm, modern, and timeless feel of my work.
The wedding world is full of talented storytellers. What do you feel truly sets Place of Serene apart from others in this space?
What sets Place of Serene apart is a combination of my eye for detail, the calm, cohesive aesthetic I bring, and the vibe I create for every couple. On top of that, my understanding of marketing and social media allows me to capture moments in a way that not only tells a story but also resonates online. It’s this mix of artistry and strategy that makes our approach distinctive.

Weddings can be beautifully unpredictable — emotions, light, weather, timing. How do you navigate those shifting elements while keeping your work so effortlessly composed and authentic?
It’s all about intention and being present. Although there’s always a runsheet, we stay agile, going with the flow of the day while making sure we deliver the couple’s wishes and the best possible content. Rain, hail, or shine, if the couple is happy and radiating love, the guests will feel it too. Sure, lighting can be tricky, but we always find ways to make it work.
Travel often sparks new creative energy. Are there any dream destinations or landscapes you’d love to capture in the coming years?
Oh gosh, just being able to travel for an event is a dream in itself! We’re off to New Zealand soon and can’t wait to be part of this special day. Honestly, anywhere we go feels like a dream, a new location, a different love story. But if I had to choose, Mexico for its vibrant culture and energy, and Greece for its stunning seas and breathtaking landscapes, would be at the top of the list.

Is there a particular wedding or project that has stayed with you — one that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Place of Serene and what you hope couples feel when they look back at your work?
It’s hard to pick just one wedding because there’s always something that sticks with me. I learn from my own wedding as well as from every couple I work with drawing from the feelings I experienced on my own day and from observing others, seeing the love and little moments from a guest’s perspective. I also want to capture those small, fleeting moments you might not think are important at the time, the ones you later wish you could relive. Even the tiniest behind-the-scenes moments are part of the story, and I make sure they’re there for you to look back on.
Finally, for couples beginning their search for a content creator, what advice would you share? What should they look for to find someone who can truly reflect their story with heart and honesty?
My advice would be to look beyond just the style of someone’s portfolio. A great content creator doesn’t just take beautiful photos or videos, they understand your story, your personalities, and the emotions that make your day unique. Look for someone who can blend seamlessly with your guests, always smiling and being part of the vibe, yet also move quickly and quietly to capture those private, fleeting moments you didn’t even realize anyone was watching. And remember, a content creator isn’t the same as a professional photographer or videographer while it’s always great to have professionals, a content creator brings a different approach, focusing on capturing moments, behind the scenes, energy, and story in a way that’s unique to them.
