Sólveig & Pedro by Charlotte Kiri Photography

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…

We met in Berlin, which is where we both live and work. Sólveig is from Iceland and Pedro from Portugal.

We both love adventures and traveling, and eloped in New Zealand midway through a trip around the world.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

Our theme was boho and adventurous. We collected our clothes and accessories during our travels in the months leading up to the elopement. We have an engagement ring from the USA, wedding bands and shoes from Peru, groom’s clothes from Chile and Australia, wedding dress from Australia, and accessories from New Zealand. The ceremony was outside in a beautiful setting by Lake Wanaka.

Tell us about your main outfits:

Sólveig wore a dress from Spell & the Gypsy, a poncho from a market and shoes from a local shoe maker in Cusco, Peru. Pedro’s outfit was sourced from several stores in Chile and Australia, and completed with a vest from MJ Bale.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

The ceremony by the lakeside and the helicopter ride to Coromandel Peak.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

Go on adventures together, get uncomfortable, and truly learn about each other. If you can be happy together un-showered in a tiny tent, you can be happy together anywhere!
