Stacey + Josh by Oddsock Society Photography

We met in Europe on a Contiki Tour in 2012. I (ST) was travelling with a friend starting off in London when she dropped her passport without knowing. Josh being the gentleman he is picked up the passport off the ground and handed it back to my friend.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

(JT) We’re a couple from Melbourne, that met overseas in Europe when I was 20 and Stace was 25. We’re coming up to 10 years since we met, and during that time, we’ve had the pleasure of moving out together to Hawthorn, being dog parents to a beautiful whippet named Louie, buying our first property in Blackburn, and learning to love each other’s football teams despite myself being a Carlton supporter and Stace being a Collingwood supporter.

When did you first realise that this was someone, you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?

(JT) I can’t recall the exact moment, but I think it was just a natural realisation that I’d had in the lead up to a planned trip to New York. When you consider the small moments that truly make your relationship special, such as dancing in the living room over a glass of wine, taking your dog for 6am walks together or just the endless conversations and laughter between the two of you, I think it becomes a very easy decision to make.

Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…

The proposal was in our favourite city in the world (New York City) The day started off with a walk for coffee and then sight seeing time. I (ST) love bridges so we started off at the Brooklyn Bridge. While I (ST) tried to take a photo I turned around to see Josh down on one knee. It was the happiest moment of our lives, so we went off to celebrate with aperol spritzes.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…

The mood was summer vibes Tuscany style type of wedding. We always envisioned a cocktail wedding by the pool sipping on cocktails and dancing the night away.

Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?

There as an issue with the music as I (JT) had arranged a friend to change from song to song between bridesmaid and bride but his phone wasn’t compatible so I had to use my phone last minute. It wasn’t ideal but it’s all part of the day.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?

Something unique would be my best friend is a jeweller (HLSK) So I had the privilege of wearing a lot of her beautiful pieces. She also custom made our rings which was a really special touch, considering she is such a good friend of ours.
