Stasita Jewellery

Much of Stasita Jewellery‘s inspiration comes from the couple themselves, their story, their culture and their history.

What makes Stasita Jewellery’s designs unique when it comes to wedding jewellery, and what inspires your collections?

While we have a minimal, curated range of wedding and engagement rings inspired by our beautiful Pacific Islands, as a bespoke jeweller, much of our inspiration comes from the couple themselves, from their story, their culture and their history.

Can you walk us through the process of creating custom wedding jewellery for couples? How do you ensure each piece is personal and meaningful?

We have a dedicated 4-step process that allows us to match the requirements of every couple that comes to us.

Dream: Our Dream phase is when we get to know our clients and all the people and things that influence their dream piece. When we meet, we invite them to really ‘dream’ about the piece of jewellery they are entrusting us to create. While there are key things to consider, such as budget and timeline (which can sometimes be limitations), during this stage, we encourage them to dream about their perfect piece. We take careful notes and then go about finding options that fit their dream and their budget.

Design: Our Design phase closely follows our Dream phase and is very involved! The detailed notes we take give us wings to fly away and curate options specifically for our couple. We first find gemstones that match their dream and budget, and we then schedule a second consultation where we confirm their choice of gemstone/s, engraving options, sizing, dimensions, timelines and whether their preference is a handcrafted piece or one designed on CAD.

After confirming all the fine details at our second consultation, we send them a quote which, on acceptance, is invoiced to them. On payment of a 50% deposit, we initialize the next phase!

Craft: In our Craft phase, we get busy bringing their special piece of jewellery into existence. Talented, industrious hands take special care to ensure that the DNA of each piece is exactly as it should be, right from its conception! Any doubts and questions our clients may have will be clarified by email or over the phone. We are able to send photos of the progression of each piece. We hone, file, solder, set and examine every detailed element of their piece of jewellery. We book a ‘ring trial to ensure we have the right fit for rings before we put our finishing touches on.

Perfect: During the Perfect phase of our process, we get busy cleaning, polishing and ensuring your piece is absolutely perfect! We send your piece away for valuation. Once your choice of delivery is confirmed, we safely ensconce your piece of jewellery in a branded case, tuck it away in packaging that is appropriate for the mode of delivery and say goodbye, trusting completely that your piece is going to its forever home, to be enjoyed by its wearer for generations to come!

What trends are you seeing in wedding jewellery this season, and how do you incorporate these into your designs?

Our design research shows us that the key trend to anticipate in 2025 is a balance between minimalistic style and jewellery that makes a statement. There appears to be an intentional move away from ‘dainty’ designs in favour of larger, more visible pieces that again display a balance of visible colour, structure, scale and sculpture. What we love about the trend for 2025 is that there is ample room for individual style and uniqueness that suits going down the bespoke route. And the robust lines of statement pieces align beautifully and allow surface area for the more substantial Pasifika motifs that we love incorporating into our jewellery.

As always, though, because a significant part of our work is bespoke, we draw inspiration from our clients’ style and preferences.

How do you help couples choose the perfect engagement ring or wedding band that reflects their style and personality?

We love that every couple has a different style and taste in jewellery! And we want to be able to really enhance their uniqueness! Even before our initial consultation, we encourage each couple to do their homework and clarify (even loosely) the designs, the metal and gemstones that catch/es their eye. We invite them to send us designs that get added to their ‘Dream’ portfolio. And when we finally sit down for our consultation, we weave their stylised taste in with their story about each other and their lives and begin the journey of bringing their dream to life.

What materials do you use in your jewellery, and how do you ensure their quality and longevity, especially for wedding rings?

We work with precious and semi-precious metals, all sourced from reputable NZ-based suppliers, the same as our gemstone suppliers. Every piece of jewellery we make is born of partnerships that can guarantee certified quality! And every element of our service is undertaken in-house. We level up in terms of our gem-setting skills. Paul, our designer and jeweller extraordinaire, is also one of NZ’s sought-after gem-setters. His knowledge and experience in gem setting are invaluable when designing each ring setting that holds the gemstones.

We also encourage clients to bring their rings in for an annual Stasita Spa Day, where each ring gets to soak in our ultrasonic bath and is cleaned, polished and lovingly restored to its original sparkle. This service is an integral part of how we ensure quality and longevity for our wedding rings.

Can you share some of your favourite pieces or collections from your wedding jewellery line, and what makes them special?

Our Stasita Signature Wedding Bands are our most favourite wedding bands ever! They incorporate elements of our beautiful Pasifika culture, excellent craftsmanship and meaning. The diamonds and emeralds in the bands are a nod to faith, incorporating a verse from the Bible.

Inspired by the nourishing marine reefs that surround our beautiful Pacific Islands, our range of Reef Engagement Rings is our most versatile and sought-after engagement ring. Versatile because couples can choose from a different style of centre stone, be it a diamond or other precious gemstones, including the gemstones in the halo. The band on each ring can be engraved with a design of choice that adds another special ‘bespoke’ element to the ring.

How do you ensure that your jewellery not only looks beautiful but also feels comfortable to wear all day, especially on such an important occasion?

While a client’s finger size informs our initial design concept and production, we also prioritise doing a final fitting before we finish the rings. This allows us to adapt to any changes in sizing that are necessary to ensure a perfect and comfortable fit, not just on their special day but also for a lifetime. We have also learned to take into consideration the time of the wedding and so, organising a fitting around a similar time as the wedding will give our couple an indication of how their body responds to hydration, weather and fatigue during the day.

We also provide a free resize as part of our overall service, so any adjustments can be made stress-free for our couple!

Over time, we have resized rings to up to 16 sizes larger. So, no matter what life brings their way, our couple can rest assured that they can always return to us and that we have the ability to provide continued support.

What advice do you have for couples who are choosing wedding jewellery together for the first time?

Three things!

  1. Conversate! Talk about what you want, your budget, your priorities, your preferences, metal, style and any special elements you want.
  2. Be generous with each other in your listening and your time. Don’t go wedding jewellery shopping in a rush. Make ‘good’ time, make a date of it! In the gifting of the wedding ring to your partner, be generous.
  3. Make your Engagement and Wedding rings a priority. We have heard our couples reminisce that on hard days when they need reminders of their partner’s love and commitment, often looking at the rings on their finger serves as a reminder of the promise of a lifetime to each other. It helps not to underestimate the power of this reminder!

What can couples expect when working with Stasita Jewellery, from initial consultation to receiving their final pieces?

We love people! We love creating jewellery that captures the essence of our client’s vision. This requires attention to all the important details, visible and invisible ones. When working with us, couples can expect to experience a steady partnership of support, excellent craftsmanship, expertise and alignment.

Do you work with Heirloom Jewellery?

Yes, we do! In fact, it’s one of our favourite things to do! We can recreate an heirloom ring from images they provide us. We can incorporate gemstones from treasured pieces of family heirloom jewellery into their rings, creating a confluence of history, lineage and their love story.
