Taylor + Anthony by Coral Dove Photography

Although originally from outside NYC, we’ve both lived in Brooklyn for over a decade. We love the energy here. We’re constantly out and about. There’s always so much to do and to see here. I work in production and was formerly an event producer (which came in handy while planning a wedding) and Anthony works in advertising.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
We met in 2018 in Brooklyn, NY where we both live. Our first date was nearly 3 hours long. We were so busy chatting that we didn’t even realize we only had one drink. As I walked home that night, I called my friend and told her I had met the man I wanted to marry. It sounds crazy but when you know, you know! Anthony will admit it took him a bit longer to realize but he obviously got there.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…
When we initially started to plan our wedding, I asked Anthony if there was anything he wanted and he replied “A moment of height.” NYC has one of the most incredible skylines and it felt so celebratory to get married on the 63rd floor overlooking all of Manhattan.

SAGA is in this incredible Art Deco building and it really set the tone for the whole evening. We wanted it to feel elegant but not stuffy. Having fun was our top priority. I also wanted something really intimate as I wanted to be able to spend time with all my guests at dinner. We decided to keep our ceremony and dinner to 45 people, mostly family and those coming in from out of town, and then invite all our NYC friends to dance and have cocktails at Primo’s.

What was one element you were happy to splurge on?
We both knew that great food was super important. How many weddings have you been to where the food felt like an afterthought? As we were planning the wedding ourselves, it was important to find a venue that had everything included. It reduced the overall stress and really allowed us to focus on the day.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?
Anthony wore a Gucci tie because of the golden bee symbol. His mom has always had a bee motif in her life after her great Aunt Bea with whom she was close growing up. She has a small business the Antique Bee, so it was a little nod from Anthony to his mom on a special day.
