Meadowlark Locks

Some jewellery collections deserve a second chapter.

To celebrate twenty years of design, Meadowlark is revisiting one of its most recognisable collections, reintroducing Locks with a refined perspective that feels both nostalgic and unmistakably contemporary.

The pieces we treasure most are often those that hold meaning beyond their beauty. They become markers of love, milestones and memories, worn on wedding days, anniversaries and life’s quieter celebrations before being passed from one generation to the next. It is this sense of permanence that sits at the heart of Meadowlark‘s reimagined Locks collection.

Launching on 23 July, Locks returns nearly a decade after it first appeared as part of Meadowlark‘s Liberty collection in 2017. Rather than simply reproducing the original designs, the New Zealand jewellery house has thoughtfully revisited them, refining proportions, elevating the details and giving familiar silhouettes a more sophisticated, grown-up expression.

The collection arrives as Meadowlark celebrates twenty years of designing jewellery in Aotearoa, making the relaunch feel especially fitting. Looking to its own archive rather than chasing fleeting trends, the brand honours the enduring appeal of timeless design while acknowledging how both jewellery and the women who wear it naturally evolve over time.

Inspired by the enduring symbolism of the padlock, Locks explores the meeting point of romance and strength. Traditionally associated with love, commitment and protection, the familiar form is transformed into a contemporary talisman that feels quietly powerful, celebrating both connection with others and confidence within ourselves.

For couples celebrating engagements, weddings and anniversaries, the symbolism feels especially resonant. Equally, the collection speaks to women marking personal milestones, reminding us that the jewellery we choose often tells stories far beyond the occasion for which it was first purchased.

Versatility remains central to the collection’s appeal. The refined padlock motif appears across sculptural earrings, elegant pendants and stackable rings designed to move effortlessly from everyday wear to more significant occasions. Select pieces can also be engraved, allowing initials, meaningful dates or a significant stone to transform each design into something deeply personal.

As fashion continues to favour investment pieces with longevity and meaning, Meadowlark‘s decision to revisit one of its own signatures feels refreshingly confident. Rather than reinventing itself, the brand celebrates the strength of its own design heritage, proving that truly iconic jewellery doesn’t lose relevance. It simply evolves.

Available from 23 July 2026, the Locks collection will be available online and through selected Meadowlark retailers, offering a beautiful reminder that the most enduring designs are often those we choose to return to.
