Agnes & Julián by Love Bears

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…

Agnes and Julián were born on the same day, April 26 From Puerto Rico — living in the US. Agnes is a Scientist working as a Molecular and Behavioral Pharmacologist.

Julián is an Environmental Engineer and the heart & lungs of Madriguera; an experimental/electronic label and distro. In 2016, Julián quit his day job and went on a personal pilgrimage to explore California’s wilderness following on the footsteps of the men and women who traversed the Pacific Crest Trail. Later that year Agnes went to San Diego and asked Julián for hiking trails in the area. This started a conversation about their shared interest in adventures and nature that still remains as a pillar of their relationship. A spiritual bond was formed as they continued spending time with each other. Their contagious spark brought friends and family together. For the past years, they have wandered corners of the world interested in cultural exchanges, sounds, personal growth, and bringing people into their life.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

We wanted our special day to be filled with light, nature, colour, and good vibes. We had our wedding celebration up in the mountains of Puerto Rico, with a beautiful view of “El Yunque” which is a National Rainforest in Puerto Rico. It was magical. We decided to play a song from the album “Like All Mornings” from Vanessa Amara to walk down the aisle. This album really helped us connect when we started our journey together and describes how we feel for each other without any lyrics. On the wedding day, when the song started playing, both of us were filled with excitement and joy… it was all that we had imagined. We decided to go for a natural colour palette. By the end of the ceremony multicolour smoke bombs filled the air with colour. It was so much fun and resulted in the perfect setting for memorable pictures. The smiles on our faces tell the story of how significant and happy that moment was.

Tell us about your main outfits:

Julian wore Chelsea boots, black pants, and a white shirt with an ivory dinner jacket custom designed for him by Brooks Brothers. Agnes wore the Kobi gown from Lovers Society. She picked that dress on the first day of looking for wedding gowns. Once she tried the Kobi dress, she knew it was the one and that she didn’t have to look for any other options. She could identify with the uniqueness and romantic vibes of the cut-out lace.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

The most memorable moment was right before the official ceremony where we decided to have an intimate moment to share our vows and have the first look. It was so honest, raw, and ours — the type of moment that you will cherish for a lifetime.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

Enjoy the engagement period, live each moment, and have fun. Your special day doesn’t have to be perfect but it definitely needs to be well-lived. It all happens so quickly.
