Ana + Pablo by People Truelove Tellers

Thanks to music, we met, and years later, we made it the main theme of our wedding.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

Ana is a doctor, and Pablo is a pharmacist. We love travelling the world, walking in the pine forest with our dog, and, above all, music. Thanks to music, we met, and years later, we made it the main theme of our wedding.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

We met at the festivities in a small town near Madrid the summer we turned 18. The first thing that caught Ana’s attention was that we liked the same things to extreme limits and, secondly, that she never stopped smiling for a moment. In Ana’s words, the first thing that she thought of me was that I was a little slut from Madrid, in her own words, and that it would not go beyond that weekend. As a good Castilian, she was tough… to this day, I still do not know what exactly I did to continue being
of her interest

When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?

We always thought it could work, but we never lived in the same city until we were 28 years old, 10 years after we met. In those 10 years, there were times when we were closer and times of greater distance, but we always maintained contact and affection. It was always a good time to remember each other with a song, a phrase or a video from a concert. When the time came, we decided to take a risk and check if this “it could work” was real. Spoiler: it ends well.

Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…

There was, but nothing spectacular. The truth is that I prepared an infallible plan to ask for it, watching the stars from the garden of a very peculiar guy in Spain, the galactic shepherd, a man who works in the countryside and set up in the back of his house a homemade space observatory. Everything was fine, except that I was under pressure and didn’t ask him for it! The next day, I prepared a breakfast tray for him and left the ring between some cereal and orange juice. It wasn’t that epic, but luckily it worked.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding.

We wanted to put the guests in the centre, obviously together with us, but we didn’t want a wedding where the bride and groom were constantly the centre of attention. The idea was to involve our friends as much as possible in everything that was going on that day and together make a celebration that everyone will remember as fondly as we do.

What was one element you were happy to splurge on?

As I said at the beginning, the common thread was music so that part was very important. At the cocktail party, we put on a rock concert that ended with a couple of songs that we played together with some friends. On the other hand, from the beginning, we thought that, over the years, the memory that we would return to again and again to remember that date would be the photos, so it was another important investment that we did not want to risk, and that’s why we chose People Truelove Tellers (photographer)

Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?

The chosen site was beautiful, but they don’t usually do weddings… so we had to set up everything ourselves. And when I say everything, I mean that we spent the week before the wedding covering some gates of the monastery with heather or assembling furniture to decorate some rooms where the photos were taken. Several days later, we finished doing things at 2/3 in the morning. It was a demanding week, but in hindsight, it was so worth it that we look back on it with a smile.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?

Ana wanted to get married in pants and blazer and from minute 1 she was clear about the designer she wanted to work with. Baron Lucas, who, in addition to being a local (his workshop is located in Tordesillas, Valladolid), ended up becoming a friend during the creation process, which was great. The initial idea resulted in a 4-piece, including a 3D fabric skirt and the crown jewel of the dress, a jacket full of golden safety pins with pearls, which gave the dress a unique punk style. In the case of the groom, Pablo was clear that he wanted to get married in gray, but his suit ended up being green. The chosen place was the Púgil Store in Madrid.
