We spoke to Bella about her unique approach, her love for people, and what couples can expect when they invite her into their celebration.

How would you describe your style and approach as a wedding photographer?

Relaxed and fun! I’m very much a person before I’m a photographer — I love getting to know people and hanging out like a friend with a camera. My approach is all about making you feel comfortable, so your photos actually feel like you. I shoot in a documentary style, focused on the real stuff as it happens — big moments, the quiet moments, and all the unscripted bits in between.

What led you to pursue wedding photography in the first place?

I’ve had a camera in hand since my early teens — photographing anything and everything. Parties, friends, nature, questionable 2010s-style selfies… you name it, I was shooting it. In high school, I spent my lunchtimes in the darkroom bringing those photo experiments to life.

Later, studying Fine Art Photography at university really cemented that this wasn’t just a hobby — it was a career path. Being a people person, weddings became the perfect creative outlet for me. I get to do what I love, while hanging out with cool people in cool places.

What’s one piece of advice you always give couples when they’re choosing their wedding photographer?

There are so many incredibly talented photographers out there, but if we don’t meet those two Cs, comfort and connection, your photos might not capture those genuine, in-the-moment feelings.

What inspires your work and fuels your creativity?

For me, it’s all about getting to know my couples and becoming super invested and immersed in their personalities and tastes. Then, seeing the connections between people, picking up on the sense of humour, the banter… all the little things that help your photos really shine.

When it comes to aesthetics, I’m drawn to anything with a bit of character — old-world charm, vintage and retro vibes, architecture, and art in all its forms and eras. I love picking out bits and pieces like this to capture and showcase as part of your wedding day – the small details that you may not have noticed as a whole can really contribute and enhance the look of your wedding overall.

How do you build a connection with your couples before the wedding day?

I honestly see the clients who book with me as my new mates — whether it’s grabbing a coffee, going out for a bevvy, or meeting your dog (big fan of that by the way). A good connection before the wedding is so important, that way it makes you feel way more comfortable on the day, and that comfort is what creates the photo-ready magic.

From the beginning, I have vowed to always ensure that there is always an organic and genuine point of contact with everyone I work with. Every interaction is purely me, with slang, emojis and all. No tick boxes or impersonal bulk emails but rather a person-to-person conversation – whether it be a stressful vent about your planning or need some inspo or ideas, I’m all ears.

What’s your favourite moment to capture during a wedding?

There’s no hesitation on this one — hands down, my favourite part of the day is the photoshoot with just the two of you. It’s that moment where you step away from the bridal party and the busyness of the day, take each other by the hand, and just let it all sink in, watching the sunset.

While you’re catching your breath and reflecting, I’m there capturing those natural, unposed moments — the ones you’ll remember most.

What’s one wedding or photography trend you’re excited about right now?

I’m a big fan of the look you get with flash, especially for detail shots and full sun moments. It instantly gives everything a more editorial feel… and gals, it gives that glorious, glowy skin that we all love right now.

Do you have any exciting plans or creative goals on the horizon?

I’ve potentially got some international work lined up, which is pretty exciting. I’m also getting back to my roots and clicking away more on my film camera. Film is so timeless and will always have its place — I don’t think it’s ever going to stop being cool!
