We wanted our wedding to feel deeply connected to nature.
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
I’m Artemis. My background is in science, and I hold a PhD in Molecular Biomedicine. While science shaped much of who I am, I’ve also recently carved out a path in modeling and content creation. I love sharing relatable stories around wellness, beauty and lifestyle, and I find joy in creating content that feels both authentic and aspirational. Travel is one of my greatest passions – it gives me the chance to explore new cultures, aesthetics and ways of living. Pilates is another constant in my life, grounding me and keeping me strong no matter where I am. I’m Stephen. My career is in finance, where I focus on strategy and structure. But outside of work, my passions look very different. Food is at the centre of my world. I enjoy discovering new restaurants, trying new flavours, and appreciating both refined dining and simple comfort dishes. I also love padel. It’s the sport that keeps me moving, competetive and connected. Together, we balance each other. Artemis brings creativity and spontaneity, while I bring focus and appreciation for life’s pleasures. What we share is a love for discovery, movement and building a life that feels purposeful, balanced and full of joy.
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
We met at a barbecue through a mutual friend. It was casual and relaxed, but for both of us, unforgettable. For me, Artemis, my first impression of Stephen was how easy he was to talk to. He instantly put me at ease, and his humour made it feel like I had known him forever. For me, Stephen, I was immediately struck by Artemis’ beauty, yet it was just so fun to talk with her and the conversation just flowed so easily. We both didn’t want the night to end. From that first evening, the connection felt natural and effortless.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood and style of your wedding. (theme, key styling elements, florals, colour palettes etc.).
We wanted our wedding to feel deeply connected to nature and to carry a sense of story across the celebrations. Each event had its own mood, designed to immerse our guevs in a unique atmosphere. The welcome dinner by the beach was imagined as Nature’s Murmur. The concept was to embrace the natural beauty of the coastline and let it guide the styling. We kept the palette soft and organic, inspired by sand, sea and sky, with textures of linen, gentle candlelight and florals that felt as though they had been gathered from the shore. A highlight of the evening was the arrival of two elephants, one adult and one baby, walking along the beach during golden hour just before sunset. Their presence gave the celebration a sense of wonder and connection to the island. After dinner, we honoured Stephen’s Korean heritage with a traditional Korean Paebaek (tea ceremony) on the sand. It was a moving way to blend cultures and create a moment of meaning within the natural setting. For the wedding day at Hom Restaurant, we envisioned an Island Dreamscape. The highlight was a breathtaking tower of orchids veiled in mist, creating the feeling of a living sculpture rising from the venue. Lush white florals inside the restaurant resembling a temple contrasted with the greenery on the outside. Hence, we chose soft neutrals and fresh greens to add to the dreamlike seyng. It was sophisticated, otherworldly and yet completely in harmony with the island’s natural beauty.

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).
For the ceremony, the highlight was the floral backdrop. It rose an incredible 6.6 metres from floor to ceiling and seemed to flow effortlessly, almost as if it had grown from the space itself. From within the flowers, a mist fountain cascaded down, creating a dreamlike backdrop as we exchanged our vows. The reception dinner at the Intercontinental ballroom carried a different kind of drama. At the centre of the round tables stood a striking tree installation with branues filled with delicate white leaves and a pale white trunk. It gave the ballroom a sculptural, otherworldly feel that surprised and delighted our guests. We also replaced the traditional wedding cake with a giant ice sculpture designed for drink service. Guests gathered around it for shots of Clase Azul tequila, a moment that brought everyone together and added a playful, high-energy twist to the evening. These elements, from the florals to the installations, worked because they created more than beauty. They built experiences that our guests could share with us and remember long after the day had passed.

What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?
For me, Artemis, the part I loved most was curating the music. Selecting the talents who would perform and crafting playlists for the evening felt incredibly personal. Music has always been such a big part of my identity and bringing that into the celebration allowed me to create moments that were both meaningful and atmospheric. Watching our guests connect through those sounds was a highlight of the entire process. For me, Stephen, the food tastings were a joy. They gave us an opportunity to savour the planning journey together in a way that felt both fun and rewarding. I was also drawn to the more conceptual side of things, thinking about how each event would unfold as part of a bigger picture. One of the most meaningful elements for me was the traditional Korean Paebaek tea ceremony we held on the beach after the welcome dinner. It was a way of honouring my heritage in a setting that was intimate, beautiful and unforgettable. The inclusion of the elephants on the beach also added an element of magic that made the celebration truly one of a kind. Our advice to couples is to view the planning process as a shared responsibility. Both partners should be equally involved, so it never feels like the burden of one. When you collaborate as a team, it becomes less about logistics and more about creating something together. And above all, remember this is a rare moment in life when everyone you love gathers in one place to celebrate you. Keeping that perspective makes the journey feel not only worthwhile but deeply special.

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?
One of the most stressful moments in planning came just a month before the wedding, when my original hair and makeup artist cancelled. Hair and makeup felt especially important to me, as it is the most recorded day of your life, and I knew those details would be captured forever. At the time, the scramble to find someone new felt overwhelming, but through a mutual model friend I was introduced to Kenneth and Christian. From the very first trial, I felt instantly at ease with them. We were completely on the same wavelength, and that trust made all the difference. On the wedding day itself, they knew exactly how to bring my vision to life, working with incredible professionalism and calm. Even when the reception fell behind schedule by over an hour, they remained patient and composed amongst the chaos whilst they worked on my next look. For the afterparty, I did something I almost never do: I gave them full creative freedom. They created a bold 90s-inspired look with a smoky eye and a matte brown lip. It’s not something I would ever have thought I could carry off, and I absolutely loved it. That moment of transformation felt playful and empowering, a perfect way to shift the mood from the elegance of the ceremony to the energy of the after party. What began as a stressful setback ended up being one of the highlights of my day. I am deeply grateful to Kenneth and Christian for their artistry, energy, and ability to make me feel my absolute best. My advice to brides- to-be is to consider working with celebrity makeup artist rather than those who specialise only in bridal. Bridal MUAs can sometimes rely on a standard template of soft, romantic looks that are designed to be “safe” and long- lasting, but not always tailored to the individual. In contrast, a celebrity artist is trained to create makeup that performs under every condition: from natural light to flash photography to red-carpet spotlights. They know how to sculpt the face for different angles, experiment with bolder or more fashion-forward looks, and adjust techniques depending on the mood or setting. On your wedding day, you are the celebrity. Every camera is on you, every detail is being recorded, and your looks need to translate across all those settings. A celebrity MUA like Kenneth brings that versatility and artistry, ensuring your makeup is not only flawless in person but also stands the test of photography and video.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?
From the very beginning, I wanted each look to feel connected to the setting, almost as though the scenery and the outfit were in conversation with one another. For the welcome dinner on the beach, I chose a gown by Toni Maticevski. As the sun dipped low and the tide whispered against the shore, its sculptural ivory folds caught the light like moving water. It felt modern and architectural, yet soft enough to blend effortlessly into the coastal backdrop. I remember standing barefoot in the sand, in awe of the elephants, and realising how perfectly it mirrored the mood of the sunset: elegant but understated. On the wedding day itself, I wore Thea by Galia Lahav, a gown that had to be a statement. With the venue overflowing in orchids and lush florals, a simpler dress would have disappeared into the backdrop. The floral embellishments of the long train and sweeping cathedral veil allowed the gown to stand out amongst the décor while still complementing it. The detachable train gave me two stories in one: drama and formality for the ceremony, then a sleeker silhouette for dancing at the reception. For the afterparty, I slipped into a silk ivory pant suit from Fleur du Mal x Galia Lahav. It had to be playful and comfortable, allowing me to dance at Café Del Mar until the sunrise.
Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.
My engagement ring is a cuvom round-cut diamond. To complement it, I chose the Tiffany Knot wedding band with diamonds in white gold. I love its design as it symbolises unity and vrength with a modern twist. Stephen opted for the Tiffany Together Double Milgrain Band in platinum, set with a single diamond. The band has a quiet strength and holds a presence without excess.

What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).
For us, there was never a single element we were willing to compromise on. We wanted our wedding to feel seamless, thoughtful, and memorable for every guest, so no expense was spared when it came to creating an experience that felt elevated from start to finish. We are so grateful to Hom Restaurant for giving us special permission to use their space for our wedding, we are the first and only couple to have the honour. Florals were one of the most important features. The entire vision of our celebrations was tied to nature and design, and the flowers carried so much of that storytelling. Our wedding fell over Valentine’s weekend, which meant prices were nearly triple, but we knew it was something we could not scale back, they were central to the atmosphere and worth every effort. Hospitality was just as important. We wanted abundance, especially when it came to food and drink. Clase Azul tequila became a feature of the celebrations, and we ordered far more than we needed. Guests shared it throughout the evening, and for those who stayed on a day after the wedding, we handed them spare bottles to take home. It felt like an extension of the celebration, a way of saying thank you and carrying the joy forward.
Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?
There were so many moments we will never forget, but two vand out mov clearly in our hearts. The first was during the ceremony. As Artemis walked down the aisle to Divo Duo’s rendition of My Heart Will Go On, cathedral veil flowing and mist drifting through the orchids, it felt like time slowed down. The emotion of that moment was overwhelming. The setting, the music, and the weight of what it meant came together in a way that felt like a dream. It is something we will carry with us always. The second came later that evening at the reception. The day had been such a whirlwind, moving by so quickly, and for the first time we were able to sit together and simply take it all in. The ballroom glowed, the white tree stood tall in the centre of the tables, and Purenessly’s performance filled the room. Looking around at our family and friends, we felt everything come full circle. All the planning, all the effort, had created this beautiful moment. we could finally pause to enjoy.
