Bailey + Jordan by House of Love

We wanted a minimalist Mediterranean vibe, relaxed and fun.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

After Jordan move to Australia from the UK, he found a passion for being a hair stylist, after meeting Bailey in 2018 we moved to Sydney for Baileys new business venture Metier Recruitment. During this time, I had the pleasure of working with a number of celebrities and high-end clientele throughout Sydney. During the COVID pandemic, we made a split decision (within 6 hours) to come home to South Australia. Jordan had the opportunity to step into a different industry where he works with disadvantaged youth to change their lives through mentorship, upskilling and gaining employment. In the last 5 years, he has worked through many different roles in the company, Jobs Statewide, where he currently holds the position of regional manager. Working across multiple areas to work with Australian youth. Jordan not only gets to help the Australian Youth but also works as a freelance hair stylist, expressing his creative passion. I could say I get to change people’s lives every day of the week through both of my careers.

Bailey grew up in South Australia and was a professional dancer, then a change of career and travelling he returned home to work with his mum in their recruitment conglomerate with 5 companies (Métier Recruitment, Jobs Statewide, Excel Recruitment, Rexco People & Rexcel Training) and 22 offices across Australia. Now the GM, work pretty much runs our lives. Bailey also owns a bodybuilding federation, Elite Natural Physique, and focuses on coaching athletes with stage posing. Bailey is a sucker for hard work and has to have his plate full at all times. A week after the wedding, Bailey became a contestant on My Kitchen Rules, 2025 – coming runner-up in the Grand Final

We have two beautiful little Papillons (dogs), Bella, 17 and Beau, 16, who rule the house and our lives.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

We met on a blind date set up by Jordan’s former employer and a family friend of Bailey. A quick meeting turned into a 12-hour-long day. We experienced great South Australian food and wine, of course. We met during the time of the Adelaide Fringe Festival, so naturally, we went to watch a show, Blanc de Blanc, which we have now seen many times and got to experience it during their performance in the Sydney Opera House.

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).

We wanted a minimalist Mediterranean vibe, relaxed and fun. No sit-down dinner, but more of a flowing cocktail event where everyone could be together. We kept the tone of the event neutral, black and white. The flowers incorporated fruits to bring the Amalfi Coast feel to the event. The venue overlooked the vineyards of McLaren Vale with the rustic stone building as a backdrop.

What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?

We very much enjoyed the styling element, being able to create your own signature day. We did not have a stylist; we curated the whole event together. From meeting with the florist and designing exactly what piece went where, and of course, working with House of Love to create the exceptional professional Photo Booth. The hair styling, of course, was Jordan’s favourite part, which he even played a part in on the day, even on the big day, you just can’t help yourself.

For couples starting their journey, plan early because before you realise the day is here. We gave ourselves two years to prepare and took it slow, fine-tuning every detail that was perfect for our aesthetic. Take in every moment of the planning process, and when the day comes, if something doesn’t go precisely to plan, you won’t know, as you are surrounded by so much love.

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?

Floral arrangements were by The Flower Nook. Tegan is incredible! We met with many florists and thought we were getting somewhere, and then we would wait 4-6 weeks between each email, but that didn’t work for us.

Eventually, we went to our local, which we walk past every day on the way to the car from work. We also both knew Tegan from buying so many flowers for each other; it was silly that we didn’t just do that in the first place. And let me tell you – Tegan understood the brief, we wanted simple but something that stands out – each of our tables had its own unique design, minimal flowers and incorporating a lot of fruits – we wanted Mediterranean, and we got more than we could have imagined.

Hair of Groomsmaids: Hair of Loren, a former colleague of Jordan, he knew this was the only person to trust with our girls’ hair on the day, and she delivered

Make Up: Monica Scardigno – Monica does Hair, Makeup and Tanning for Bailey’s bodybuilding federation. Monica knows how to pull off show-stopping looks, and did not disappoint

The venue was Simon Hackett Winery – Teresa and Cheryl were unreal, we felt so safe with Teresa running the day for us, she also was in on the secret surprise, so she really went above and beyond. We’re still in touch with them today.

Live singer: Gab Hunter, truly the most talented musician you can find. We met her at one of her gigs one night, and started chatting, and that was it, we locked her in. We then followed her gigs for a year in the lead-up to keep the connection with her. We told her the songs we wanted, and she modified and changed them to our liking, also in her studio, she recorded our isle walk so we could use it on our wedding film. She has become a very good friend of ours.

House of Love – for photography and Videography – see question 8 for everything about why they are THE BEST in the business

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?

Our suits were custom-made by THDR. Originally, we were going to have contrasting coloured suits. Jordan then saw the black fabrics that had  gold threads and fell in love, so naturally Bailey went for an ivory white to make sure it suited well.

Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.

Bailey’s engagement ring is Vera Wang, and Jordan’s ring is custom-made by Temple and Grace

Side note:  Jordan proposed on top of Mt Titlis in Switzerland while on a trip to visit family – very ironic.

We chose not to have wedding rings, as these were also so special to us.

What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).

Photography and videography were very important for us; we met with countless vendors to get the right vibe and quality. We gave up for a bit and thought it was too hard, but we then fell in love with House of Love’s work. We messaged them, even though it was a little out of price range. But, almost immediately, James and Kirsty replied and did a Zoom call with us that evening – James was so thorough and basically helped us plan our entire wedding during that call, so we knew it was the right fit. Also to be comfortable with your photo/video team was important for us. Honestly, James and Kirsty are the best thing that happened to us during our wedding planning and after.

James and Kirsty also had a new product offering for a live photobooth with a professional photographer for the duration of the night – they created an ivory ruffled drape. I cannot tell you how incredible that was for guests and us – I think we took photos for the entire day.

Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?

Walking the aisle was very emotional, to see all your favourite people in one place, full of love, is something you can’t replicate. Also, the highlight was Bailey’s mum’s wedding surprise of Ricki Lee performing; honestly, you just can’t beat the energy. Everyone was on the dance floor all night, and that’s exactly what we wanted

What does being married mean to you, and are there any special rituals you have that you would like to share?

Even though we’ve been living together for 6 months after meeting and are very much a part of each other’s families, marriage really solidifies blending families.
