I appreciate a good antique, which was the overall theme for our day.
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
Eric and I love to try new restaurants together and take our Aussiedoodle Coco on walks around our neighbourhood. I’m an avid reader, and Eric is getting into golf even though he’ll tell you he’s no good. :p
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
We met on Bumble! I thought he was very straight to the point and witty, and appreciated that he was a “take charge” kind of man who always had a plan. Eric’s first impression of me was that I was easy to talk to, funny, and sure of myself. He also mentioned that I was very forward… not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing lol!

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).
I appreciate a good antique, which was the overall theme for our day. We tried to incorporate as many antique pieces as possible. This, mixed with our moody florals, the romantic film photography, and the intimate glass greenhouse of Lumen House, made for a cozy fall affair.
What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?
I loved deciding on the design elements and using it as an excuse to sit down and plan everything over a glass of wine with Eric. It was cool to see him really get into the logistics of the wedding, as those are not my strong suit.

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?
Samantha, our photographer, went above and beyond the typical vendor. Not only did she deliver beautiful photos, but she also made the whole experience from day one so much fun and made me comfortable on the big day. I would tell future brides to pick vendors that feel like friends, and Sam is just that.
Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.
I’ve always known I wanted a dress with movement and unique materials. I knew as soon as I saw this dress that it was the perfect fit for me. I felt bridal but still very “Bayley” as everyone kept assuring me.

What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).
Eric wanted everyone from his family to get a taste of Southern food, so we really focused on that, and Southern Way Catering delivered. I was focused on the overall design (florals, antiquing the decor, table settings), which I feel like turned out beautifully. The photographs, as I’ve mentioned, were also dreamy, which was very important to me.

Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?
Our first look and private vows will always hold a place in my heart as I’ve never seen Eric cry that hard. He told me his vows were going to blow my vows out of the water (jokingly of course) but he was not kidding..I was bawling like a baby, and it was just such a special moment to share between the two of us.
What does being married mean to you, and are there any special rituals you have that you would like to share?
Being married means committing to making each other’s lives easier every day. Sometimes that means taking a few minutes for complete silence when the other person has had a particularly hard day at work, unloading the dishwasher if you have an extra minute, or doing a random act of kindness to make them smile. A ritual we hold onto is going on a walk with Coco every evening to make sure we spend that time together and “reset” after each day.
