Bridesmaids – Bold Colours

Bold and beautiful

Bold-coloured bridesmaid dresses are an emerging trend being embraced by modern bridal parties who love a fashion-forward twist.

This marks a progressive movement from the ever-popular (yet still relevant) fresh pastel bridesmaid look we have been featuring for the past few seasons, as seen in weddings like Kate + Hamish or Cam + Emily. However, we recognise it’s a bold departure from what we are used to seeing at weddings, and whilst we adore this high-fashion look, it may not be a trend for everyone.

When working with such strong, vibrant colours, it’s essential to use elements like florals, stationery or other styling elements to seamlessly incorporate the palette into your overall wedding styling. If you are styling yourself, map your palette out across all areas of the wedding and Involve your florist and stylist (if using one) early on. If possible, provide fabric or colour swatches to help them suggest complementary flowers, foliage and styling elements and items.

An upside of this trend is that maids really get a chance to reflect their personalities. They also get to walk away with an outfit they will cherish and wear again and again, which we love from a sustainability angle.
