TUBEROSE & FIG IN COLLABORATION WITH KELLY KARAM FROM BLUSH, AUCKLAND.
Princess Diana loved freesias. Billie Holiday is synonymous with gardenias. Audrey Hepburn loved lily of the valley and for Edith Piaf, it was chrysanthemums. Certain owers have long held the power to communicate something very personal, and Ecoya, a luxury home fragrance brand, has tapped into the evocative aroma of a bouquet in a new range of scented candles.

Down the Track – Tim & Krista

Categories: Flora + Styling, Weddings-Down the Track - Tim & Krista

Krista: I grew up in beautiful Vancouver. Tim and I met in 2006, while he was travelling the Great White North. Our first conversation was about how amazing it would be to live in a New York loft. It was clear from the beginning that we had a lot in common and we knew within a couple of weeks that we were a perfect match. Beyond our mutual love of design, our bigger-picture values and goals lined up seamlessly, which is rare to find.

Grandiflora + WORLD Fragrance Event

Last night we partnered with WORLD Brand to host a magical event to celebrate the launch of the latest fragrance Boronia created by the world-renowned florist, author and fragrance creator Saskia Havekes of Grandiflora. We have been longtime followers and fans of Saskia, our Editor has followed Saskias floral work for a number of years and we first interviewed Saskia about her fragrances for issue four of Together Journal. To finally meet and be able to work with and interview Saskia in person was an inspiring experience. Saskia's journey and the story of her path to date is beautifully emotive and intriguing. There is no other fragrance creator quite like her. Saskia's depth of experience in the world of floristry, knowledge of botanicals and the time she spends every day working hands-on with transient varieties of flowers has given her a unique set of skills that have made her very desirable in the world of fragrance and she has worked with the very best modern masters of scent in the world to create her stable of floral based Eau De Parfums. We will be bringing you more on the story of Grandiflora along with fragrance and floral tips for weddings and occasions in issue twelve. In the meantime, you can experience all five Grandiflora scents at WORLD stores throughout New Zealand. All fragrances are also available online. Below is a collection of images from last nights event, Saskias floral installation will be in-store at WORLD Britomart this week should you like to experience it in person, which we would highly recommend. Thank you to our wonderful partners who worked with us on thsi event: Cook & Nelson, Seedlip Drinks, Scapegrace Gin, Together Bespoke Wholefood Kitchen, Blush Flowers, Anieszka Banks

The Sherwood is a retreat

Although well-known both to locals and visitors to New Zealand’s South Island for its luxuriousness, Sherwood Queenstown is still a humble place. It has quietly been making its mark since opening two years ago, building an impeccable reputation for having a beautiful ethos in the way it’s run and as a unique place to visit. The rooms, the staff, the opportunities it offers guests to connect with nature and, not least, its food, make it everything you need for an authentic and comforting escape. Photography (above)—Bayly & Moore baylymoore.com

The New Floridian

Categories: Flora + Styling, Weddings-The New Floridian

If you peel back the veil of south Florida just a tad, it’s not all palm trees, flamingos and jet skis. Floridians love the fall, which is so fleeting after a long tropical summer. With its deep, richly coloured florals, fall is Florida’s wedding season. Here’s a glimpse of another Florida, the Old World glamour of Miami and the South Beach night club scene, with its sequins, decorative hair pieces and over-the-top jewellery displays.

Kaysha is an interior designer and had a vision of how she wanted everything to look, we went for pretty and feminine pastels paired with lush greenery and deep wine reds to add some romance to the look. She did a great job of pulling together all the details and trusted me to bring to life the ideas she had in mind.
