We met at a student house party in Manchester in 2009, the least romantic of settings. We introduced ourselves and didn’t leave each other’s side all night.

Hirini is a Sales Manager and I am a Lawyer specialising in Treaty and Criminal Law. We have been together for
7 amazing years and 2 of those years was actually spent living in different cities. We are fortunate to own our
first home together beside the beautiful sandy shores of Pāpāmoa Beach.
We began a two-year, long-distance romance, travelling back and forth to see each other for a couple of days
every three or four weeks. There were a lot of teary airport goodbyes and months packed into weekends.

Dave worked as a graphic designer for a signage company for many years before he decided he could do things better himself. So alongside his business partner, they did just that and built their own signage company (Darklab – they make some pretty epic signs, including all the signs for our wedding!).

Matt and Mel met many moons ago at a club in South Yara and truthfully didn’t think much of it at the time (or at least, Mel didn’t). Matt stayed safety in the friendzone for about a year which built a pretty great foundation for a relationship they have today.

Kane locked eyes on Clemi at a Surf camp in Wilsons Prom Victoria. He said to his friends “I’m going to marry that girl one day”. He mustered up the courage to talk to me and as they say the rest was history we have been together since the 14/1/2012 at the tender age of 15 and 17.

Dean and I met in high school, he was the cute surfy kid who I had a crush on for most of my teenage years. We didn’t start dating until we finished high school and our relationship definitely flourished from a friendship. We’ve been together for almost 10 years now!

I’m a management consultant and Lins is an investment manager for Callaghan Innovation. We met in the mid 1990s when we were both working at Lincoln University. We fell in love over long working lunches and pies from the famous but now defunct Hillyer’s pie shop in Lincoln.
