Elizabeth + Jamie by Kristin Piteo

It struck just the right balance — refined yet relaxed, classic yet contemporary.

We met on New Year’s Eve in 2012. When we recall our first meeting, we still laugh. Jamie walked up, did a pirouettem, and said, “Jamie, 27, Leo.” I responded, “Beth, 21, Capricorn.” From that moment, we were intrigued by one another. Astrology became a running theme in our relationship – Jamie proudly living up to his Leo traits (“confident, big-hearted, and extremely handsome,” he likes to say), while l’m the classic Capricorn: resilient independent, and quietly adventurous. Jamie likes to say I’m the GOAT, and not just in astrological terms.

Our wedding took place in the heart of Provence, at the beautiful Château Martinay. The moment we saw its grand façade, soft stone tones and lilac-blue palette, we knew it was the one. We wanted our guests to experience the property fully, so we hosted a three-day celebration: a family dinner on Friday, the ceremony on Saturday, and a pool party on Sunday. Each day offered a different mood, a different lens through which to experience the château.

The ceremony was held beneath a long row of cypress trees. As the sunlight streamed through and the trees moved gently in the breeze, it felt cinematic — a perfect blend of nature, emotion and intention. We wrote our own vows, had a close friend officiate, and chose music curated, produced and performed by our friend Link Lewis. It was a personal, intimate ceremony full of meaning.

We wanted the rest of the weekend to feel joyful and immersive. The cocktail hour was a feast for the senses – fresh vegetables beautifully displayed on antique platters, and a standout butter sculpture of Zeus by Amandine from Citron Pavot. That detail, presented on a vintage silver tray, still makes us smile.

We made our reception entrance to All / Do Is Win, setting the tone for a lively dinner. Guests danced between courses, trays of espresso martinis circulated, and the dance floor never emptied. Our first dance, choreographed by a close friend, was the perfect opener to a night of full-hearted celebration. Florals played a deeply symbolic role. I worked with Miss Whiterose the morning of the wedding to arrange them with thoughtful spontaneity. Orchids featured prominently – inspired by the poem Wild Orchids by Izumi Shikibu, which I’d read during our legal ceremony. They also reminded us of our first trip to Singapore and my time studying at UAL, where orchids influenced my creative work.

My dress was by Sarah Seven – a dream that had been set in motion long before Jamie proposed. We met Sarah on a trip to Harbour Island, and over drinks one night l’d announced, “If Jamie and I ever get married, I’m wearing one of your dresses.” Years later, I found the perfect gown – and it carried a name with special meaning for both of us. It felt meant to be. Jamie wore a bespoke light brown double-breasted linen suit from Cad & The Dandy, styled with suede loafers and a knitted tie. It struck just the right balance – refined yet relaxed, classic yet contemporary.
