We both wanted to wear something traditional but timeless. My dress was made by Anita at Vinka Design and the whole experience was really special.
Lauren – I’m a nurse in Auckland and Linus moved to NZ from the UK in 2017 to work as a financial advisor, then he met me and never left. We have a son Harry and a golden retriever Floyd. We love socialising, working on our home, hanging out with Harry and exploring new countries and places. We actually met through Tinder! Linus was my first “date” and we met at Chapel Bar in Ponsonby (which was obviously a sign). I thought he was very handsome and I loved his accent. I knew instantly that I was going to marry him. We just clicked right away, we both remember the feeling, as though we had known each other forever.
Linus – I knew that we were a good match because our values, goals and laid-back perspective on life was the same and these were things I always wanted in a partner.
Lauren – Linus had planned to propose to me on the coast of Italy but our trip was cancelled so he tried to book romantic getaways within NZ – which were also cancelled. He decided to take me on a sunrise walk at our local beach (it was obvious that something was going on because we had never been on a sunrise walk in our lives).
We ended up missing the walking track and traipsing through a swamp before emerging in the bushes at the carpark where we’d started, just as the sun came up. But I bawled my eyes out with happiness.
Linus – Our wedding was always about the guests. From the start we wanted to have a big party that felt relaxed and fun, with lots of laughs, good food and music. It was always more about the feel of the day than the style and it was absolutely perfect. Everyone says your wedding day is the best day of your lives and it truly was magic.
