NYBFW Berta Maggie Dunn

Through the eyes of Maggie Dunn

As a continuation of our first look at Berta’s latest New York Bridal Fashion Week presentation, this second feature offers a slightly different perspective on the collection. This time, captured for us by photographer Maggie Dunn, the show is revealed in a slightly different light, one that feels more intimate, showing some extra details, especially around lace and corsetry work.

Berta returns with a collection grounded in romance, drama and unmistakable glamour. Founded in 2004 by Berta Balilti, the brand continues to define a bold vision of modern bridal, blending vintage references with sculptural, fashion-forward silhouettes.

There is a heightened sense of femininity throughout, with gowns that balance grandeur and softness in equal measure. Silhouettes feel expressive yet refined, carrying the confident sensuality synonymous with the house.

Lace remains central, woven through the collection in varying forms. Full lace gowns anchor the offering, while sheer sleeves, gloves and mantilla veils introduce layers of texture and detail. The veils frame each look with a romantic, almost regal finish.

Basque waistlines feature prominently, elongating the bodice and sculpting the silhouette with a corseted precision. The result is both flattering and modern, offering a fresh interpretation of classic bridal proportions.

Versatility also plays a role, with a series of two-in-one gowns designed to transition seamlessly from ceremony to celebration. These pieces speak to the evolving expectations of contemporary brides, where adaptability is key.

Through Dunn’s lens, the collection takes on a softer, more emotive tone, revealing new dimensions of a body of work that remains striking, cohesive and enduringly glamorous.
