We wanted something relaxed but elevated — timeless, with a few quirks that made it distinctly us.
Olly is a financial advisor, and I’m in business development in renewable energy. While we both work corporate jobs, it’s our shared love of people, design, and great conversation that shapes every part of our lives. We’re social creatures at heart. Our perfect day involves good food, music, and being surrounded by the people we love the most. Throw in a dancefloor, and we’re set!

We met on the first day of our third year at university in Bath, and have been inseparable ever since. Life is usually a whirlwind of work, travel and hosting, but when we do pause, you’ll find us curled up at home in Bristol with our two British Shorthairs.

For our wedding, we wanted something relaxed but elevated — timeless, with a few quirks that made it distinctly us. Tonnara di Scopello was a dream venue, with scenery so stunning it didn’t need much. Our goal was to enhance rather than overpower it, adding thoughtful design touches to every moment.

The ceremony florals were one of our favourite elements — we worked with Frascati Fiori to create an organic, grounded arrangement that felt like it belonged there. The white leaves were an unexpected discovery that I fell in love with — they looked like fabric woven through the greenery, subtly striking against the sea and sand. Dinner was always going to be the hero moment. Inspired by chic restaurants in Paris and New York, we envisioned it feeling like a stylish date night — low music, intimate chatter, a touch of James Bond glamour.

We strayed from tradition with the bridal party, too. Matching dresses never made sense for our group, so we built the palette around the Rat & Boa Luciana dress, blending earth tones with bold pops of red to nod to our dinner styling and Sicilian surroundings.

There were plenty of laughs behind the scenes. Lucy and I spent months sourcing 75 vintage Italian-style side plates. They arrived in Sicily… completely smashed. All 75! A nightmare in theory, but by then, we were too invested in joy to care.

We loved the creative process. I work in a very corporate environment, so being able to pour myself into the design and atmosphere of the day was so fulfilling. We worked with sshepaints on embroidered napkins (‘for when you spill’), which added personality and playfulness to the tables.

Fashion was a big part of the experience. For the welcome dinner, I wore a dreamy Arcina Ori dress I hadn’t seen any brides in — it was made for a destination wedding. My wedding look came together at Danielle Frankel. I wore a corset and silk skirt with a tulle scarf and later swapped to tailored trousers for dancing (but kept the corset — it deserved an all-day moment). Olly chose a custom tuxedo from Suit Supply with ‘amore’ stitched inside. And our photographer? Benjamin Wheeler was a non-negotiable. His work is beautiful, natural, and full of soul. Seeing those images now, we’re reminded how lucky we are — not just to have had the wedding of our dreams, but to have shared it with the people who matter most.
