Dreaming of a romantic, Parisian styled wedding from afar? Thankfully Black Finn have curated this gorgeous styled shoot for all of your ethereal, European wedding inspiration needs. Claire, founder of Black Finn gives Together Journal an insight into her styling choices and inspirations.
Claire – The initial inspiration for the shoot was Harriette Gordon’s stunning bridal gowns as I am inspired by their beautifully refined and minimal details. I wanted to show the versatility of any gown – that with simply a different hair piece or make up look you can completely transform the aesthetic and make it unique to your own style.
Within wedding planning and styling I don’t often get to be too involved in the fashion side of things, with the exception of recommending bridal suppliers from time to time, so I had a lot of fun seeing the dresses in studio and personally creating each look.
Each fashion element, as well as every table setting piece was thoughtfully chosen and curated to evoke a romantic ethereal vibe.
For the location, we chose French Saloon which is a Parisian bar & bistro located in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. With its stripped-back white floor and bright red ceiling, the venue was the perfect location for the shoot. I wanted the shoot to feel premium, feminine and romantic with hints of European glamour. With the table styling, I opted for neutral muted tones of white, beige and stone as a base palette and then layered these with soft pinks and yellows to create depth and soften the overall table setting.
Tony Assness candles are sculptural and a statement feature even on their own. Their large ribbed designs added to the complexity of the tables. I used them sparingly, interweaving them with the floral centrepieces to show restraint and not over complicate the design.
If you love this tablescape like we do, we have another gorgeous styled shoot we know you’ll adore. See the Al Fresco Wedding styled shoot HERE for more european infused wedding styling.
Together Loves the styling of short wedding dresses from Harriette Gordon via Bluebell Bridal paired with millinery headpieces from Victoria Jane & Rebecca Share making for a dreamy modern elegance to suit any location. We feel that adding a statement veil with unique embellishments of pearl beading, fabric florals and abstract textile features adds gorgeous aesthetic detailing for fashion loving brides.
