We met on set shooting a commercial. Jared is a filmmaker and director, and I work in front of the camera as an actress and model. We both love nature and fell for each other when I went to see one of Jared’s environment-themed movies.
Tell us about your proposal day. Were you surprised? How did you feel?
Brittany: I woke up on Friday morning and received a call asking to do a catering job that night. This didn’t seem anything out of the ordinary for me as I do a catering job as a side hustle. I had instructions on where/when to arrive. I was even asked to bring supplies for the job.
We met through mutual friends when we were both living and working in Copenhagen. Caring about each other as friends before starting our relationship means we are friends first, husband and wife second.

(Brad) – Professionally we’re opposites. I work in communications, Ben works in supply chain and logistics. As a couple, we both love the outdoors and are very active in summer… not so much in winter. Ben’s an amazing cook and I’m an amazing eater.
He sat behind me at high school and we ended up going to the year 13 school ball together. We’ve attended school and university graduations together, supported each other through our career journeys, and navigated the nuances of an intercultural relationship.

Stephen grew up on the Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom. He worked in international development before moving to Aotearoa New Zealand. We run a business that makes finding small-medium size charities easier.
Romi: I’m a theatre director and producer, and love gardening and reading. Edden is an animator, works in customer service, and loves drawing and gaming. We both initially connected through our art forms — performance and animation. This blossomed into a shared love of many things, such as nature, animated films, authenticity and building our life together.

From high school sweethearts to husband and wife, we’ve been together for a decade. Jesse works as a resident doctor and Vivien is a tax advisor at medical devices manufacturer Fisher & Paykel Healthcare.
A celebrant and a sommelier: we fit together like yin and yang. We met in 2014, when I slung open the door to a Bondi restaurant called Fat Ruperts for my first shift as the new waitress. Sean, the manager, says that’s when he first laid eyes on the love of his life. I needed a little more convincing.Â

Charl and I met when we were quite young. Ridiculously enough it was at schoolies week but we would never have met if Charl didn’t already know my best friend Hannah who introduced us. We then went our separate ways and didn’t start dating for another year after we met. We then endured a long 3 years of long distance while navigating university and living on college.
One of my favourite details was my bouquet: my favourite flowers cascading down, and a small picture of my father pinned to them, so he was always close to me.
Charles is of New Zealand and English descent and I am of New Zealand and Spanish descent, so our beautiful and COVID-sized wedding was a mix of Spanish/European styling with modern Kiwi paired back simplicity.
