Claire + Ludovic by Tatiana Braoun

Floral design played a central role in the atmosphere of our wedding.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

Ludovic is a landscape designer and founded his own company a few years ago (Terranova Paysage). I’ve never met anyone as passionate about his work; it’s truly a part of who he is. “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” This quote feels so true to him!

As for me, I’m a psychologist and currently training to become a Pilates instructor alongside my work. I deeply love what I do and the meaning it brings to my everyday life. Pilates has gradually become an equally important passion, and combining the two felt like a natural evolution.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

We first met in a bar. Ludovic had had quite a bit to drink that evening and approached me with great confidence… with very little success, as I was in a relationship at the time and not at all receptive.

A few years later, our paths crossed again, as they often do when you least expect it. Ludovic suggested we go on a hike, which I agreed to. As I’m passionate about photography, he also asked me to come and capture some images of his gardens, a far more effective approach than his first attempt!

From that moment on, we never left each other’s side.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood and style of your wedding. (theme, key styling elements, florals, colour palettes etc.).

We drew inspiration from two main atmospheres: the warmth and conviviality of Spanish weddings, and the more refined elegance of seaside celebrations. This balance guided all of our choices throughout the process.

Floral design played a central role in the atmosphere of our wedding. We worked closely with our florist to imagine the arrangements, drawing from a Mediterranean aesthetic: luminous, elegant, and timeless. Our florist grows her own flowers, which perfectly aligned with our vision. We wanted the overall feel to resemble a spring garden: slightly wild, natural arrangements, simple yet thoughtful, with soft tones that blended harmoniously. She immediately understood our vision and translated it beautifully, creating a floral atmosphere that felt poetic, delicate, and timeless.

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).

Collioure is one of those places that means a great deal to me. During one of our very first walks together, I took Ludovic there so he could discover the village, and he immediately fell in love with it.

For us, getting married in Collioure was a dream… that came true. The venue, the Hôtel des Roches Brunes, is one of the most beautiful places in the village. Facing the sea, surrounded by hills and the warm colours of Collioure, it offers a breathtaking view. It is also a place where aesthetics meet gastronomy, a place that celebrates fine produce and the Mediterranean art of living, everything we deeply love.

Our guests were just as captivated by its beauty. More than anything, we wanted a wedding that truly reflected who we are. We did not wish to organise a huge reception, but rather to share this moment with the people who are dearest to our hearts. The atmosphere was warm and intimate; almost everyone already knew each other, which gave the celebration a special softness, like a large gathering of family and friends.

What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?

If we had one piece of advice for couples, it would be this: Start as early as possible, delegate as much as you can to people you trust, but above all, enjoy the process! You’re (hopefully) only doing this once in your life, so make the most of it. It may involve entire evenings spent discussing and planning, but the result is truly worth it. Trust yourselves, stay true to who you are, and everything will fall into place!

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?

We were incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by truly exceptional vendors. Everyone showed remarkable attentiveness, a genuine eye for detail, and great kindness.

We would particularly like to thank Tatiana Braoun, our photographer, as well as Ally and Joshua (Yonder Film Co), our videographers. We built a beautiful relationship of trust with them, and we sincerely hope to cross paths again someday, perhaps in another setting or for another meaningful celebration. Since meeting them, we have recommended them to anyone planning their wedding.

Ludovic and I are naturally quite shy in front of the camera, but their patience, sensitivity, and reassuring presence allowed us to feel completely at ease and brought to life images that feel truly special to us.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?

Ludovic found his suit in Spain, during a trip with his groomsmen, at Sandro. It was a simple and meaningful moment, shared with the people closest to him.

As for me, I chose my dress in Barcelona at Cortana, truly a beautiful address for bridalwear. I went there with my mother and my two bridesmaids, which made the experience even more special. It was a moment filled with emotion.

Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.

Ludovic chose my wedding band from Cartier. On his way there, he called my parents to ask for their blessing, which made it all the more special.

We decided to keep things simple and intentional by choosing to wear only wedding bands, without an engagement ring.

What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).

We chose to invest more heavily in the venue, as it was important for us that it truly reflected who we are and could comfortably host our families, who had travelled from afar for the occasion. We wanted a place that felt meaningful, welcoming, and capable of gathering everyone in the best possible conditions.

The audiovisual aspect came second; it was essential for us to pay particular attention to everything that would allow us to relive the emotions and memories of the wedding day. Photography and film were especially important in preserving the atmosphere, the small moments, and the feelings we experienced throughout the day, so that we could return to them over time.

Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?

What we remember most about the day is the love that ran through it. When we look back, the emotion is still just as strong. The way we looked at each other as we first saw one another, the pride in our families’ eyes, the words shared by our friends… We had imagined our wedding in countless ways, yet we could never have dreamed of anything more beautiful.

I also remember not feeling the need to cry in that moment; the stress was still taking over. And then, as I began to walk down the aisle towards my father, who accompanied me to Ludovic, everything shifted. I felt an overwhelming sense of vulnerability, as though I had become a little girl again. The tears of joy came… a lot of them. In the intensity of that moment, I could see nothing around me anymore, only him.

What does being married mean to you, and are there any special rituals you have that you would like to share?

To us, marriage is the ultimate act of giving oneself. It is the conscious choice to fully offer yourself to another, for a lifetime, in all the dimensions that such a commitment holds.

We are complementary in the way we move through life: Ludovic is instinctive, while I tend to be more of a perfectionist. Marriage, for us, is also about that balance, taking the time to meet one another, to adjust, and to grow side by side.

More than grand rituals, we place great value on simple moments: watching a film, listening to music, having long conversations, going out for dinner, imagining new projects, or travelling together. It is within these everyday moments that our connection is nurtured.

As Ludovic shares:  “At first, marriage didn’t feel especially important to me. I was certain of my love for Claire, and knowing that it mattered to her, I went to get the ring somewhat on impulse. But on the way, I truly felt what it meant to commit to someone for life. I felt completely aligned with it, and it only deepened my love for her and my certainty that she was the woman I wanted to spend my life with.”
