Where love stories bloom through artful, seasonal, and bespoke florals.
Weddings are deeply personal, and every detail should reflect a couple’s unique love story—perhaps none more so than the flowers. At Elderflower Florist, floral design is more than decoration; it’s a thoughtful, artful process rooted in seasonality, individuality, and intentionality. Known for their refined yet whimsical aesthetic, Elderflower approaches each wedding with a bespoke vision, crafting arrangements that are as memorable as the moments they accompany. In this feature, we delve into their creative process, design ethos, and how they bring each couple’s dream celebration to life—bloom by bloom.
How would you describe Elderflower’s signature aesthetic when it comes to wedding florals?
Our style for wedding florals blends refined wild and whimsy with structural, timeless elements. We love creating arrangements that feel both organic and intentional, pairing loose, garden-inspired textures with composed, strong shapes.
How do you guide couples in choosing a floral palette, especially when working with seasonal blooms?
We start by exploring the couple’s desired colour palette, any favourite flowers they have in mind, and the overall mood they want to create. From there, we guide them through what’s in season at the time of their wedding. If a particular flower isn’t in season, we’ll suggest alternatives that capture a similar look or feel, so the essence of their favourites is still reflected.
Do you offer curated floral packages, or is each wedding a fully bespoke experience?
Each wedding we design is a fully bespoke experience. We don’t offer set packages because no two couples or their wedding visions are the same. Instead, we take the time to get to know each couple, understand their style, priorities, and floral wish list, and create a custom proposal that reflects their unique day. This allows for complete flexibility with design, scale, and seasonality, ensuring that every element feels personal and intentional.
What’s included in your wedding floral service—from initial consultation through to the day-of execution?
Our wedding floral service is thoughtful, collaborative, and fully tailored. We offer two in-person consultations, one to explore your vision and another to finalise the details. Throughout the process, we stay connected via email for planning and updates. Behind the scenes, we handle everything from sourcing blooms to designing and prepping each arrangement. On the day, we take care of all setup and styling, so everything comes together beautifully and stress-free for our couples.
What types of arrangements can couples expect you to provide—bouquets, ceremony features, reception florals, and beyond?
We offer a wide range of wedding florals from bouquets and buttonholes to ceremony installations, reception florals, and everything in between. We’re always open to hearing what you’re envisioning and love collaborating on ideas. That said, we’ve found the most beautiful and cohesive results come when we focus on the styles and arrangements we do best.
What’s the ideal timeline for couples to book their florist, and what does the planning process with you typically look like?
We take bookings up to 12 months in advance, but not earlier, as pricing and availability can change. Once booked, we begin the planning process. Designing, colours and flower types are fluid right up until 30 days prior to the wedding date, as this is when we place orders with our wholesalers to ensure our planning runs seamlessly.
