I work for Chanel in the export department managing different countries across Europe and Africa and Raph works for Worldline as the head of risk.
We both love tennis, and hiking and have a slight obsession for travelling.
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
We met through friends in common ten years ago. We were both dating different people at the time and became good friends. When things ended with our previous partners we went on a trip to Argentina 4 years ago and the rest is history!
Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…
On the last day of our holidays in Ibiza last summer! He popped the question on the way to the
airport. I was definitely not expecting it.
Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…
I am British, Nigérian and German and grew up in Africa and Raph is French. We loved the idea of getting married in the cathedral of Syracusa as it was conquered by so many different invaders such as the Normans, the Greeks, the Arabs etc. and the architecture is a reflection of that. It is a metaphor for the melting pot that we are as a couple.
Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laughed about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?
All went perfectly! Our wedding planners did an incredible job. I wasn’t expecting such a big crowd when I arrived at the church felt like a royal wedding. It every overwhelming and touching with so many people saying “Auguri” which means congratulations in Italian.
Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?
I designed my dress with Savannah Miller and her brilliant team. I was living partly between London
and Paris and liked the idea of mixing a British designer with French lace having worked for Eres in
the past. I went to so many different wedding dress shops and just couldn’t find the one. We worked on a moodboard and from the first designs she completely understood what I wanted: it was a match made in heaven.
