When it came to the visual direction of our wedding, our guiding principle was “intentional simplicity.”
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
On paper, we might seem like a study in contrasts, but in reality, we are each other’s perfect “reset button.” Jake spends his workdays navigating the analytical, high-stakes world of finance, but he is at his happiest when he is completely unplugged and outdoors – whether he’s catching fresh powder on a snowboard or cooking for our close-knit circle of friends and family.
Paige, on the other hand, works in the world of Customer Experience, a role that requires a deep well of empathy and a sharp eye for detail. These traits definitely spill over into her personal life; she has a legendary talent for “retail therapy.” While she loves the energy of a day spent shopping, she is just as happy ending the evening curled up on the sofa with her cat.
We are a duo that thrives on the laughter of our loved ones but deeply cherishes the quiet, slow moments at home.
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
Our story began long before the wedding bells, back in the hallways of our high school in New York. We started dating during those formative years, and from the very beginning, Paige made a massive impact on me. As someone who tended to be more introverted and reserved, my first impression of her was her infectious, outgoing personality. She was incredibly easy to talk to and had this natural way of drawing me out of my shell, challenging me to experience the world with a bit more vibrance. She wasn’t just someone I was dating; she became my best friend and the person who made every social situation feel like home.
Of course, life eventually tested us with the distance of the college years. We spent a significant amount of time navigating the challenges of a long-distance relationship, which only served to solidify that we were in this for the long haul. A few years ago, we decided to trade New York’s beaches for the mountains, moving across the country to Denver, Colorado, to start our adult lives together. This move felt like the final piece of the puzzle falling into place. From high school hallways and FaceTime dates to exploring the Rockies, our relationship has evolved through every season of life, proving that no matter the distance or the setting, we were always moving toward the same future.

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).
When it came to the visual direction of our wedding, our guiding principle was “intentional simplicity.” We were fortunate to have a venue with such inherent character and scenic beauty that we didn’t want to overwhelm the space with heavy decor or cluttered tablescapes. Instead, we focused on a minimalist foundation that allowed the architecture and the natural landscape to do the heavy lifting.
To bring the space to life, we introduced strategic pops of colour that acted as a focal point against the more neutral backdrop. Rather than a monochromatic look, we worked with our florist to incorporate vibrant, seasonal blooms that felt like they had been plucked straight from a lush garden. These bursts of colour offered a beautiful contrast to the venue’s organic tones and added a sense of playfulness to the overall sophisticated vibe. This balance of “less is more” with high-impact floral accents perfectly captured our style. It allowed the natural beauty of the location to breathe while still feeling curated, elevated, and deeply personal to us. The result was an atmosphere that felt effortless yet vibrant, exactly mirroring the energy we wanted for our celebration.
What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?
For those just starting their own planning journey, our biggest piece of advice is to follow your gut from day one. It is so easy to get swept up in the “outside noise” of trends, family expectations, or social media pressure. We found it incredibly helpful to sit down early on and create a non-negotiable list of what was most important to us. Once you have that foundation, use it as your North Star. If a decision doesn’t align with your core priorities, let it go. This is your special day, and it should be a celebration of your unique partnership, not a checklist for anyone else. Stay true to your vision, and the rest will fall into place perfectly.

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?
Choosing the right vendors was a top priority for us. Since we were planning our wedding from another country, we needed someone we could trust implicitly to handle the logistics on the ground. Elsa from Lola del Campo navigated the complexities of international planning with grace and expertise – it helped that she was a fellow cat lover!
When it came to documenting the day, Meredith was so much more than just a photographer. While her talent behind the lens is undeniable, it was her ability to quietly and calmly command the room that truly saved the day. She kept everyone on schedule and “in check” with a perfect balance of professionalism and humour.
Finally, we have to mention Cabo Strings, who performed during our ceremony and cocktail hour. They brought a fresh, modern energy to the atmosphere by playing incredible renditions of contemporary music that had all our guests talking.
Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?
Our wedding attire was a deliberate reflection of the setting. We wanted to honour the vibrant, breezy energy of Mexico while staying true to our individual styles. Jake knew from the start that a traditional black tuxedo wouldn’t fit the destination’s soul. Instead, he opted for a custom, chocolate-brown suit with a distinct 70s-inspired flair. Featuring a flowy silhouette and peak lapels, the look felt relaxed yet incredibly sharp, perfectly complementing the earthy tones of the venue and the warmth of the climate.
For the ceremony, Paige wanted a look that felt classic and ethereal – something that would stand the test of time and feel effortless against the natural backdrop. However, once the sun went down and the celebration shifted gears, she transitioned into a fashion-forward reception look that was an absolute showstopper. She chose an ombré, colourful fringe-beaded dress from Cult Gaia that felt like wearable art. The movement of the fringe and the bold gradient of colours were the perfect nod to the festive atmosphere of the evening. Together, our outfits captured the exact “mood” of the weekend: a balance of grounded elegance and an unapologetic desire to celebrate in style.

Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.
When it came to our rings, we wanted pieces that felt less like stock jewellery and more like a reflection of who we are as individuals and as a couple. Paige’s engagement ring features a stunning emerald-cut diamond, a choice that was very intentional. The clean, architectural lines and the sophisticated “hall-of-mirrors” effect of the emerald cut perfectly mirror her personality: direct, timeless, and effortlessly elegant. There is a strength in those straight lines that feels right for her, representing a sense of clarity and purpose that she brings into our lives.
For our wedding bands, we decided to move away from the traditional high-polish finish in favour of something with more soul. We were drawn to textures that celebrate “perfect imperfections.” Rather than a perfectly smooth surface, our bands feature hand-wrought textures and organic finishes that tell a story. To us, these imperfections represent the reality of a long-term partnership – it’s not always about a flawless surface, but about the beauty found in the grit, the history, and the unique marks made along the way.
What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).
When we sat down to determine our budget, two things rose to the top of the list: the culinary experience and the way our memories would be preserved. For us, the venue had to be more than just a beautiful backdrop for a ceremony; it needed to have a soul and a connection to our story. We chose a location that also functions as a restaurant, one we had actually dined at during a prior vacation to the area. We remembered the incredible energy and food from that trip, and we knew that getting married there would provide the “best of both worlds.” It allowed us to offer our guests a shared dining experience that felt intentional and nostalgic, rather than a standard catered wedding meal.
Equally important was our investment in photography. We viewed our photos as a primary heirloom for our future. We were more than happy to spend a little more on a photographer who possessed a true editorial eye, someone who could capture the raw, unscripted emotions of the day. We wanted a visual narrative that we could look back on for the rest of our lives and eventually share with our future family. These images are the only part of the day that truly lasts forever, and knowing we have those moments captured with such artistry makes every penny spent worth it.

Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?
If we had to pinpoint what we would treasure most, it wasn’t a single minute, but rather the gift of time. Choosing San José del Cabo as our destination allowed us to transform our wedding into a full, immersive weekend with our favourite people. Living in Denver and having roots in New York means our loved ones are scattered, so having everyone we care about in one beautiful place for several days was a rare and overwhelming joy. There was something so special about seeing our high school friends, our newer Colorado community, and our families all mingling poolside and sharing meals in a place that has become so dear to our hearts over the years.
One specific moment that stays with us is looking out during the festivities and seeing the blend of our two lives against the lush backdrop of Acre. After years of navigating long distance and big moves, having all those worlds finally collide in such a vibrant, relaxed setting was incredibly emotional. It wasn’t just a celebration of a marriage, but a celebration of the community that supported us from our teenage years to now. Those slow mornings catching up with old friends and the late-night laughter under the stars are the memories we’ll be talking about decades from now. It reminded us that while the decor and the outfits were beautiful, the true magic was simply being together in a place we love.
What does being married mean to you, and are there any special rituals you have that you would like to share?
While we are still in the early stages of creating our own formal rituals as a married couple, we are currently standing on the precipice of our biggest one yet. We are expecting the birth of our first baby just a few days before our first wedding anniversary, which feels like the most poetic way to celebrate our first year as husband and wife. This new addition is already shaping the way we think about our future traditions. We are so excited to start building rituals that revolve around our growing family, whether that’s annual trips back to Cabo or simple Sunday morning routines at home. Our marriage has always been about growth, and we can’t wait to see our story evolve from a party of two to a party of three.
