I’ve always known I wanted to get married in Italy, specifically Tuscany.
Nestled against the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Wakatipu, the Matakauri Lodge in Queenstown recently played host to a styled wedding shoot that was nothing short of enchanting. While the venue itself boasts unparalleled natural beauty, it was the meticulous styling that truly stole the show on this special day.

I loved living in Sweden because of the beautiful autumn colours and icy cold winters. So immediately, my vision was to have an autumnal wedding with dried flowers, lots of candles, and just generally a cozy and minimalist vibe.
For our wedding, it’s all about “camp.” As a queer couple in 2023, we saw marriage in a different light. Our focus is on bringing everyone we love together for a joyous celebration.
We planned a full week of events around the actual day so that we could spend quality time with loved ones and ensure everyone had fun while experiencing the magic of the Kimberley region.
We live a fairly relaxed life in Fitzroy with our 3-year-old son Monty. I work in UX Design at MECCA, and Jack in advisory at Deloitte.
My wedding dress was a Grace Loves Lace gown, the Lena. I fell in love with the dainty unique lace and fit.
I think my fate was sealed, by the way he kissed me after walking me to my tent at daybreak on New Years’ Day at Woodford.
