A breathtakingly styled editorial captured by Bernadeta Kupiec.
From her perspective, she reveals the inspiration behind the shoot and reflects on the talented creative team who helped bring the vision to life.
The Planning
Marrakech has always held a special place in my heart. I’ve been lucky enough to visit four times, and each trip deepened my love for the city. There’s something magical in how its architecture, bold colours, intoxicating scents, rich flavours, striking landscapes, and even its beautiful chaos come together. For this styled shoot, Amanjena was the perfect canvas—earthy, grand, and symmetrical, it captured the soul of Marrakech.
The design took its cue from the city’s palette and structure. One image dominated the mood board: the deep, muted green seen throughout the Medina. A hue both classic and contemporary, it became the anchor for the concept. From there, the vision unfolded—statement vases, porcelain accents, all echoing that timeless green. Each choice balanced boldness with restraint, capturing the energy of the Medina through the soft, luminous lens of Amanjena.
I imagined the tables outdoors, under olive trees, curving naturally rather than standing in straight lines. The vision was abundant and romantic—vivid florals in pink and green, fresh fruit, meringues, and soft candlelight as dusk fell. To heighten the richness, we styled a second table in the gazebo—the “abundance table”—bursting with shades of pink and green, reflecting celebration and layered beauty.
The Colours
Colour was central to the shoot’s vision. The palette revolved around two hues—soft pink and deep green—both iconic to Amanjena and evocative of Marrakech’s charm. The pink mirrored a desert sunset; the green, lush gardens and the Medina’s ceramics.
Together, they created a pairing that was romantic yet grounded. Florals matched the mood, striking a balance of softness and vibrancy. Beneath the olive trees, yet another green entered the story—natural, calming, and effortlessly chic. Each tone played its part in a refined and organic narrative, enhancing the venue’s own palette while telling a story of timeless elegance.
The Venue
Amanjena was the dream. I’d admired it in photos for years, and when Nesrine from Philocaly Weddings shared venue options, I chose it instantly. With its pink-toned walls, verdant gardens and shifting light, Amanjena felt both serene and cinematic.
Its beauty lies in contrast—opulent yet minimal, perfectly symmetrical but softened by swaying palms and gentle water features. Every detail felt deeply connected to Marrakech’s essence. I was captivated not just by the architecture or palette, but by the calm that envelops the space. It offered the ideal foundation for this shoot—elegant, grounding, and utterly transporting.
The Dress
The gown, from Julita London Bride, was the perfect blend of romance and modern grace. Its minimalist design held real impact, with delicate strands of pearls on the bodice adding timeless refinement.
The fabric moved with the breeze, giving it an airy, ethereal quality. This mix of softness and structure echoed the wider vision—elegant, contemporary, and quietly powerful. The dress felt at one with the setting, elevating the shoot’s aesthetic while telling its own story.
Florals & Décor
The floral and décor choices were a study in refined abundance. Meringues and fruit in metallic bowls added gentle decadence, enriching the organic softness of the overall look.
The main table—winding gracefully through an olive grove—was layered with soft fabrics, candles and vibrant florals. Overhead, light curtains fluttered, heightening the dreamlike mood. The cake, simple and elegant, sat under an olive tree in harmony with the surroundings. The second table in the gazebo added a burst of opulence, overflowing with flowers and detail—creating a contrast that felt rich, celebratory, and considered.
Favourite Design Detail
The table under the olive trees was a standout. Delicate yet bold, it brought together all the contrasts that defined the shoot—soft lines with strong shapes, vintage touches with modern flair.
It embodied everything we loved about Amanjena: a place where tradition meets contemporary design, where serenity and statement live side by side. This table wasn’t just décor—it was a reflection of the whole story we set out to tell.
