Jenny – We live in Munich, Germany and both work passionately in the real estate industry. We work as part of a team during the days, and in the evenings we work together on our own real estate projects. To outsiders, it might seem as if work is our world, but for us it’s our great passion to work together!
Our brown Labrador, Bruno, brings balance to our lives. We love to travel and celebrate life with good food and wine and are close with our friends and family. Alex is also a passionate golfer. We met nine years ago through the real estate industry. Professionally, we didn’t have much to do with each other at first, but on the odd occasion we saw each other there was already a connection.
After a year and a few dates, we spent a weekend together in Salzburg, Austria and decided to give our love a chance. We have been through some of the most wonderful, but also difficult times together and now we simply can’t imagine life without each other. When it came to the wedding, we wanted to organise a unique, unforgettable party and have the day be full of fun and emotion.
For our guests it was one of the first big events since Covid hit so everyone was excited, but we also had to keep the pandemic in mind while planning. We wanted the style to be extravagant, but still classic. Flowers play a huge role in my life, so this was a big emphasis. Our biggest extravagance was an incomparably beautiful arrangement by my favourite florist in Munich, Blumen Adler (which translates as Flower Eagle). After the wedding, we donated the arrangement to a hospice in Munich.
I quickly found a dress in a local bridal shop in Munich. However, I continued to follow new designers on Instagram and to look around for inspiration and one day I saw a haute couture dress with a four-metre train and instantly fell in love. I called my bridal shop and told the owner that there was now a problem. I’d fallen in love with another dress which I had to try on just once to make sure I hadn’t left any stones unturned in finding the perfect gown. After a long phone call and a few emails, the bridal shop managed to fly in the haute couture dress from Spain. I tried it on and it was settled. I MUST trade in my original dress and have this one.
We had planned for buses to take our guests to the wedding. However, Alex forgot to add the extra bus we needed to get everyone there, so my parents, grandmother and our dog were all left standing at the bus station! We had to hurry to order taxis. This meant that I had to circle the venue and wait in an abandoned gas station until everyone was ready. The ceremony was delayed by 45 minutes, which seemed a disaster at the time but in retrospect, we and the guests can just laugh about it.
