Rosalind: I’m a visual arts teacher at a girls’ school in Christchurch, Jack works at his family vineyard and winery. We are both creative people who like having other projects outside of our careers.
We’re not your typical match. Nicholai is a manager at a car dealership and I’m a social work team leader at a community agency. Nicholai comes from Whanganui and I grew up on the North Shore of Auckland.
Fi is beautiful, bright, smart and generous. I love her compassion for everyone and everything. She’s my number one fan and I’m forever grateful for her support. Pat is a kind, loving, devoted partner who would do anything for me and those around him. He’s a beautiful soul and we’re the best of friends.
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
We met on a dating website 10 years ago and following our first date at a local wine bar I decided although he was very handsome and charming, we did not have enough in common to go forward and informed Sean this by email, much to his dismay!
We wanted to stand strong in our values on our wedding day while also paying respect to our families by celebrating Tongan tradition, as well as Tyler’s heritage. Our future children will be half Tongan, so it was important for us to choose which traditions we wish to bring forward and which we wish to leave behind
Cezary and I are both Canadians living in Berlin. We’ve been together for so long that we feel like we grew up together. We’re in a place where nothing the other says sounds crazy or impossible.
Natalie: David loves to say we met the “old fashioned” way: on Tinder. True story, although it was only due to some heavy-hitting mutual friends who insisted that we actually decided to meet.
For me I knew pretty instantly he was someone I wanted to know in my life. I think he’s SO gorgeous, but my first thought was I’d love to be his friend. After his first trip to Sydney, I knew he was someone special, but honestly, there hasn’t been just one moment, it’s all the moments combined.
Sophie: I’m from Hawke’s Bay and Will is from Mount Maunganui. Will owns a design business with his friend, called George & Willy, and I run an art gallery, Parlour Projects. Much of our time together is spent reading, dreaming and talking about art and design.
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
Josh and I are a little bit like Ying and Yang. I am very chatty, bubbly and love to be around people and definitely don’t mind a wine over some cheese and crackers. Josh is slightly reserved, an observer a very practical type of guy who loves his bananas and apples!
What’s unique about our relationship is making things work when we’re on different schedules. Our mutual attraction is built on us both being highly ambitious people who want more than the average 9-5. It’s not about climbing the corporate ladder, but doing something every single day that you’re passionate about.
