Blooms of the week – Lu Diamond
Peonies are Beyond!! They are actually mental – once they are fully blown with all their ruffled pillow like petals I am reminded why I love them so much.

Our first October wedding brought our first delivery of Springs finest -a box full of huge Icelandic poppies, anemones and long white sweet peas.
For Katherine & Alex we took colour inspiration from Katherine’s bridesmaid dresses – sage, plum and burnt orange.
“Springs arrived and after a long cold winter there is nothing that warms the soul more than bright, cheerful spring blooms. Daffodils, Earlicheer, Iceland Poppies, Wild plum blossoms and garden picked Hellebores, signal the beginning of longer, warmer days ahead.”
When starting this bouquet I knew I wanted to go all out and create a spring explosion with plenty of flowers to match.
When lovely bride Melissa asked me to create her wedding bouquet her colours were mint, lemon, chartreuse and gold. From that moment I knew her wedding would be special and inspiring. It was fun to come up with something that was a little bit different…..
Finally spring is in the air….we’ve had our share of cold and grey days over the last few months, but there were still rich jewel-toned blooms out there to lift our spirits… even in the depths of winter!
I love to create arrangements in large urns, there’s something about this style of vase that allows flowing movement with vines or branches and when placed on a mantel or table it can soften a hard edge.
My 1.5 meter long bouquet took my breath away, I always wanted to be able to create my own wedding bouquet but as I was stuck up a Scissor lift it kinda became impossible, so my right hand wing woman Yvonne reconstructed my floral vision and put her amazing skills to work.
